FAST Extra Marmur

Highly flexible tile adhesive - class C2TES1

Usage

Adhesive mortar FAST EXTRA MARMUR is a dry mixture of high-quality white cement, white fillers to prevent discoloration of marble and modifying agents ensuring good adhesion to the surface, high flexibility and resistance to flowing. It is additionally reinforced with polypropylene fibers, which directly improves its working and strength parameters.

Properties

FAST EXTRA MARMUR is a professional adhesive mortar with high technical parameters and very good adhesion ideal for fixing largeformat slabs of marble and other natural stones, as well as floor and wall ceramic tiles on horizontal and vertical surfaces exposed to increased static and thermal loads. Additionally, it can be used for gluing ceramic tiles and stoneware inside and outside the building (within balconies, terraces, swimming pools). Due to its properties, it is perfect for gluing tiles on difficult surfaces such as: balconies, terraces, stairs, swimming pools, wet rooms (saunas, laundries), etc. The surfaces can be: concrete, hollow bricks, brick, cement and cement-lime plaster, cement and anhydrite screed, drywall and gypsum-fiber boards, floors with underfloor heating, surfaces covered with foil or waterproofing mortar, old tiles and terrazzo.

Surface preparation

The surface should be even, strong and dry, free from all kinds of contaminants that would reduce the adhesion of the mortar, i.e. dust, lime, grease, remains of old paint coatings. In order to increase adhesion and eliminate dust, surfaces should always be primed with FAST GRUNT U or FAST GRUNT G.

The product can be used on the following surfaces:

  • cement and cement-lime plasters (after a minimum of 28 days and the humidity not higher than 4%)
  • cement screeds (after a minimum of 28 days and the humidity not higher than 4%)
  • concrete (more than 3 months after and humidity not higher than 4%)
  • anhydrite surfaces (humidity 0.5%)
  • gypsum (humidity below 1%)
  • old ceramic cladding, terrazzo - properly degreased and cleaned

CAUTION

Heated cement and anhydrite screeds should be pre-heated before installing the tiles.

Preparation and usage method

Pour about 6 liters of water per 25 kg of dry product into the container and add the contents of the bag, stirring until the consistency of a homogenous paste is obtained. Leave for about 10 minutes and mix again before use (do not add water). The mortar prepared in this way is usable for a period of 2.5 to 3 hours. During work, the adhesive mortar should be stirred periodically every 30 minutes. The tiles should not be soaked in water prior to laying. Start laying the tiles by applying a layer of glue to the surface with the flat side of the trowel, and then collecting the excess with the comb side. The thickness of the teeth on the trowel depends on the type and size of the tiles.

It should be remembered that the size of the surface on which the adhesive mortar is to be applied should allow us to properly install the tiles before the open drying time expires. If the mortar stops sticking to hands during work, it means that the time has been exceeded and it is necessary to remove the mortar and replace it with fresh one. Please note that to ensure adequate adhesion, the adhesive mortar should cover at least 65-70% of the tile surface. In the case of installing large-size tiles, stoneware or stone tiles, floors tiles or places exposed to intensive use, high humidity and outdoors, the tiles should be installed using the combined method, i.e. apart from applying the adhesive to the surface, the adhesive must also be applied to the reverse side of the tiles. This method of applying the adhesive ensures 100% contact of the tile with the surface and guarantees the best adhesion. The tiles should not be butt jointed. The size of the joint should depend on the dimensions of the tiles.

Depending on the temperature and relative air humidity, the joint can be applied after no less than 48 hours from laying the tiles. The works should be carried out in dry conditions with air and surface temperatures
between + 5 ° C and + 25 ° C. Fresh coverings should be protected against unfavorable weather conditions until they are dry.
The glue obtains its full operational load resistance after min. 14 days from application. The underfloor heating can be started after min. 14 days from installing the tiles

USE

Depending on the type of substrate, FAST Extra Marmur consumption is from 2 to 4 kg / m².
The consumption depends on the size of the comb teeth and amounts to, respectively: comb from 4-6mm about 2 kg/m2 comb from 6-8mm about 3 kg/m2 comb from 8-10mm about 4 kg/m2
