FAST AQUA

One-component, elastic sealing compound

Usage

FAST AQUA is a one-component, liquid mass for making anti-moisture waterproofing of surfaces before fixing tiles ceramic inside buildings. It is mainly used for waterproofing walls and floors in rooms with non-pressurized exposure to water, such as bathrooms, showers, toilets, kitchens, drying rooms etc., except for places exposed to constant exposure to water (e.g. baths). The mass is especially used in wet zones of these rooms, i.e. around showers, washbasins, bathtubs, shower trays and sinks. FAST AQUA can be used on a properly prepared and seasoned mineral base, such as: concrete, cement and cement-lime plasters, gypsum plasters, gypsum boards.

Properties

FAST AQUA is a dispersion mass (so-called liquid foil) for making flexible anti-moisture coatings under ceramic tiles inside buildings. The product is based on a polymer dispersion with the addition of fillers and modifying agents. It is characterized by very good adhesion and flexibility. It creates waterproof coatings, does not contain solvents (it is environment friendly).

FAST AQUA due to its appropriate viscosity is easy to apply to both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Its flexibility contributes to equalizing the  stresses of  the  surfaces caused  by  their  deformation and  can  be  used  as  a  covering  foil  on surfaces  exposed  to  the  formation  of microcracks below 1 mm. The resulting coating is an ideal surface that is ideal for laying tiles and terracotta. It is resistant to commonly used cleaning agents and detergents.

Surface preparation

The surface under FAST AQUA should be load-bearing, even, free from dust, dirt, salt efflorescence and poorly adhering layers, residues of old paints and oils. If there are mechanical defects in the surface, they should be filled with FAST ZM cement mortar  or FAST SUPER.
Dusty and shedding surfaces should be sanded and dusted and then primed with FAST GRUNT G.
Highly absorbent surfaces must be primed with FAST GRUNT U.

Freshly made surfaces can be sealed after they are completely dry and cured:

  • cement and cement-lime plasters (after a minimum of 28 days from their application and the humidity not higher than 4%)
  • cement screeds (after a minimum of 28 days from their application and the humidity not higher than 4%)
  • concrete (more than 3 months after their application and humidity not higher than 4%)
  • anhydrite surfaces (humidity 0.5%)
  • gypsum (humidity 1%).

Preparation and usage method

FAST AQUA is a ready-to-use product that must not be thinned, thickened or combined with other products. Before use, the mass should be mixed in order to even out the consistency using a slow-speed drill. Before proceeding with the application FAST AQUA all expansion and assembly gaps, wall-to-wall and wall-to-floor joints must be protected with special FAST sealing tapes and corners. Additionally, all places where the installation passes through the floor or wall, i.e. drains, pipe penetrations should be secured with special sealing sleeves.

Before placing these elements in the appropriate places, apply a thin layer of FAST AQUA, then put them on and press them down. In order to completely flood them, apply another layer of sealing compound. After the initial drying of the seals, we can start applying the mass FAST AQUA over the entire surface. For this purpose, use a brush, roller or spatula to apply a thin layer of about 1 mm evenly. Then, after it is dry, i.e. after about 2 hours from application, we can start applying the next layer. To ensure adequate water resistance, the sealing
compound should be applied crosswise in at least 2 layers.

Approximately 24 hours after applying the last layer FAST AQUA you can start laying ceramic tiles using adhesive mortars: FAST NORMAL +, FAST EXTRA or FAST EXTRA +.When laying tiles, remember to maintain an appropriate joint gap, the width of which depends on the size of the tiles. Use watertight joints for grouting and fill expansion joints with special silicone masses.

USE

Depending on the type of substrate, FAST AQUA consumption is from 1.2 to 1.6 kg / m².
